About Me

(Be warned! This is more of just me talking about my past!)

(By the way, this is a work in progress. Harass me if I fucked something up.)

The SMW Hacking Era

Sometime back in (late) 2014, I stumbled across a Super Mario World mod that was really interesting to me at the time. The game had custom music, and had all kinds of fancy stuff. Lots of people, including me, often questioned how this was possible on an SNES. That hack was called "Brutal Mario".

Cut to about a year later. After seeing all these videos, I encountered another interesting hack. Named "M A R I O", the game was a creepypasta/horror hack. I took great interest into it, as it's still the only hack that does the horror theme really well with just the default SMW assets. It's also responsible for getting me to sign up for a site called SMWCentral.

My initial post there was reaaaaaaalllllllly bad. I was literally living off of a android tablet, and using the really bad IPS patcher app that was on the internet. It was me stating, "Whenever i load the hack MARIO, it just crashes, with a black screen." Funnily enough one of my (now) friends was initially a jerk to me, his reply being "By playing a different hack. I can't believe people still play it". Of course, a moderator kicked him back into line. Not much passed, except that people kept pointing out my absurdly long handle (it was "M A R I O W O R L D"). I got to know people better, but I always had this odd feeling, like I never really belonged there. Often times I'd do something stupid (often on accident!), and the moderators at the time would freak out. Later on, after a few awkward exchanges, I changed my handle. At that point in time my stuff was under the handle "Konata Izumi" (This is up until fairly recently). Things were going fairly smoothly, I was submitting stuff to SMWC's resource sections (although only one made it mast moderation, lol). Until one day. MarioBros980, infamous for his broken english, invited me and select other SMWC users to his own discord server (a ripoff of another server). Things were even more fine at this time, me and my friend Kaisaan were almost about to get moderator positions, and we were going to do some serious work in the SM64 Hacking Sections. Snoopity, yet another SMWC user, was teaching MarioBros980 proper english (he was using google translate, and to make it worse, he barely knew his own native language, due to him being deaf). Kaisaan often did "this sentence is more proper by saying x" statements, which (after some research) was correct (albeit too formal), however it didn't end out well for Snoopity. I'm gonna spare you the details, this one dragged on for too long, but simply put, the two went at it for an hour, until it dissolved into chaos. The two often just hurled insults, and I tried my damndest to break it up. Kaisaan, fed up, decided to drop the N-word. This is a major part of the conflict, as Snoopity contacted the mods about this (I was purely spectating, and trying to break up the fight) and their response? I got a great little DM on Discord about something I was not a part of, but apparently was so. (to be fair I was involved, but I was tryingto end it as this was getting extremely out of hand)

"Bullying, xenophobia, and racism are not tolerated whatsoever under any circumstance. Just because you bully and mock people off-site doesn't mean you are immune to any form of punishment. Due to your repugnant behavior you have been permanently banned from SMWCentral.~idol, 2018

For something I didn't do, this was kinda stupid. Plus, Snoopity's post history was completely gone, as MarioBros980 had wiped his post history for the past hour form the server. Initially, I was in shock, going "Holy shit, what do I do now?", since I didn't have much else for a ROMHacking site to chill out with some friends at. Enter the Chiptune Era.

The Chiptune Era

During this time I was getting more into this program called "FamiTracker", which allows you to make music for an actual NES/Famicom. I had dealt with music on the SNES prior (Due to SMW Hacks often including custom music, in a very hard-for-beginners syntax known as MML (Music Macro Language)). I found Famitracker to be highly interesting, and I went off from there, where it could be summarized as learning the tracker more. During this time I had changed my handle (Twice More!), From Konata to Yumetaro, and then finally to Blue Mario (geez, now doesn't that sound familiar, eh?). I also floated around the FamiTracker server, but I didn't to a whole lot. However, After goofing around a bit in the Pickford's Plok server, a member of another chiptune server, called Dr. Z, happened to offer me a invite to this server called "The Chiptune Cafe". I joined, and immediately felt wholly accepted by the community for once. One of my first covers there was FamiCommodore, a song that emulated a SID chip (on a Famicom expansion chip, the Namco-163). Due to it's timing, and a bad joke, the song turned into a meme, unfortunately, and one stream later everyone hated the song (although the song itself isn't bad, everyone was sick of hearing the same notes). Anyways, things kept going smooth, and as such I somehow became owner of the biggest retro mental institute in the world. That's basically where I am now.
